2 vans at Parma Senior Center destroyed in a fire

In a Facebook post, the Parma Police department released the following heartfelt message after a fire destroyed 2 vans owned by the Parma Senior Center.

"It saddens us to report the Parma Senior Center has lost their two vans in a fire today. These were the only modes of transportation they continuously used to provide support to our senior community of Parma and the surrounding area."

Since the recent pandemic struck, these vans were used to deliver food boxes during the stay-at-home order along with helping the seniors to get to health care appointments.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and we will be assisting the Parma Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office in the investigation.

Anyone with more information about the fire is asked to contact the Police Department at (208) 722-5900.
