Detroit Lions jerseys leaked: How Twitter reacted to team's new threads

The Detroit Lions are set to unveil their new uniforms on Thursday night, but the jerseys were accidentally leaked beforehand, giving us a look at what's to come.

The leak came via an affiliate ad from Fanatics that was posted on USA TODAY's Lions Wire. The article showed three different jerseys, one black, one blue and one white.

The article has since been removed, and the Lions have now confirmed that the leak is real through a pair of videos, one featuring defensive lineman Alim McNeill and the other showing quarterback Jared Goff going through the new threads.

The tough thing about holding your new uniforms for an unveiling is keeping all the third-party corporate partners in line with the launch, when there's so little oversight with those. I know black Lions jerseys haven't always been a favorite of fans, but I can't help but love the new ones. And, to be honest, the other two are excellent upgrades, also.

Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone was the first player from the team to react to the leak on social media, and he was none too happy about it. Check out his reaction and more below.

Bigger leak, Taylor Swift’s new album or Lions’ new uniforms? My daughter’s opinion may be different than yours.

The Lions have handled the leak perfectly. Those jerseys are everything I've ever wanted from them. 10/10. pic.twitter.com/YhXGSkrjeZ

I know the majority doesn’t like the Lions black jerseys, but the first time they wear them I’m 100% sure everyone will hop on board

I'm not saying that the Lions new jerseys aren't better.
What I'm saying is I was expecting more in terms of revamping.

Black jerseys? Ugh. Didn’t want these

I urge Lions fans that were going to go to the unveiling tonight to still go. We haven't seen everything yet.

We don't know what the pants are, what helmet and jersey combinations are happening and if there's a third helmet. Go to Ford Field tonight.

I can agree that the new black jerseys are a significant upgrade over these old ones. https://t.co/inh7ry4FEJ
