Man killed in Weiser house fire identified

WEISER, Idaho (CBS) — A 51-year-old man who died last week in a house fire in Weiser has been identified.

Weiser Police on Monday identified the victim as Christopher Smith. The fire happened on the 600 block of East Park Street in Weiser.

According to the fire marshal, another person inside was rescued by a passer-by. That person was taken to the hospital. So far, no update has been given on their condition.

Investigators say the cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary but without malice. Two pets also died in the fire.
